Adventist Public High School Network
The Adventist Public High School Network (APHSN) is dedicated to supporting and nurturing Adventist students who find themselves navigating the complexities of public education. Our mission is to cultivate a spiritual foundation and a sense of belonging that empowers these students to live out their faith authentically, even amid the secular challenges they encounter daily.
We are acutely aware that for many of these students, Friday night can be one of the loneliest times of the week. In a world where their faith often sets them apart from their peers, APHSN serves as a vital lifeline, providing opportunities for connection, fellowship, and spiritual growth. By officially recognizing this ministry, we can enhance our outreach and provide a structured network that fosters resilience and a strong sense of community among these young individuals.
Many parents and youth leaders have longed for resources and support for Adventist public school students that have not been available and for many they are losing hope of keeping these students plugged into Christ and the church. This ministry structure gives support to local leaders and the Adventist public school students they have the privilege to lead.
What is APHSN? Let us explain.

Five Essential Reasons for Supporting Public School Students in Local Churches
- Spiritual Resilience: Students attending public schools face numerous pressures that can challenge their beliefs. By fostering a supportive network through APHSN, we empower them to build spiritual resilience, equipping them with the tools to confront adversity while maintaining their faith.
- Fostering Community: The opportunity to connect with peers who share similar beliefs and experiences is invaluable. APHSN creates an inclusive community where students can find emotional support and encouragement, helping them navigate their spiritual journey
alongside others who understand their struggles. - Faith Conversations: Establishing a platform for open and honest discussions about faith is critical for young people. APHSN can facilitate these conversations, providing resources and guidance that enable students to explore their beliefs and questions in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Role Models/Mentorship: Engaging older students and dedicated church members as mentors can provide essential role models for younger individuals. These mentors can guide students through the unique challenges of public school life, offering insights and encouragement that foster personal growth and spiritual development.
- Commitment to Mission: The mission of the Adventist Church extends to every individual, regardless of the educational context they find themselves in. By officially recognizing APHSN, the NAD Youth Ministries Department reaffirms its dedication to supporting Adventist students in public schools, ensuring they feel valued and connected to the overarching mission of the church.
