Momentum: Move
The Move component of Momentum Youth Ministry is passionately dedicated to activating young people in meaningful service and mission, both within the walls of their local church and extending outward to impact their broader community. At its core, Move emphasizes the transformative power of service as a lifestyle—not just an isolated event. The goal is for students to embody an ongoing commitment to actively live out their faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus in tangible, practical ways.
Central to the Move initiative is Touch 10k, an inspiring challenge that calls students to intentionally serve and impact at least 10,000 individuals in their local church and surrounding community. Touch 10k goes beyond a simple act of service; it fosters a vibrant culture of continuous outreach, compassion, and generosity. Students are encouraged to identify and meet genuine needs, creating opportunities to demonstrate Christ’s love through acts of kindness, community projects, and practical assistance.
Additionally, students in Momentum Youth Ministry eagerly participate in Global Youth Day, an annual event promoted globally by the General Conference Youth Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Global Youth Day mobilizes millions of Adventist youth worldwide, inviting them to actively serve their communities through intentional acts of service, kindness, and outreach. Students gain a profound sense of global belonging and solidarity as they join peers around the world in a collective mission to share the love of Jesus through compassionate service.
In essence, Move strategically enhances Momentum Youth Ministry by reinforcing the vital concept of "Strength Gained Through Progress." As young people progressively embrace a lifestyle of committed, ongoing service, they build spiritual strength, leadership capacity, and deeper community connections. Ultimately, the Move initiative shapes a generation of Adventist youth dedicated to making a significant, lasting difference in their local communities and beyond, embodying the active, compassionate heart of Christ in everyday life.
